Yellow Mountains of China - Terror Trail

Far up on Yellow Mountain in the south east of China¡¯s Anhui province is a trail of tens of thousands of granite steps. Partly lacking rails to hold on to, they are a traveller¡¯s only guide past deep ravines and steep descents. Weather-wise, a whole year can pass in just one day: spring in the morning, summer at noon, autumn in the afternoon and winter at night. The most dangerous part yet might be the breathtaking views that can easily make visitors forget where they have to tread.

Moraine Lake, Canada

Moraine Lake is a glacially-fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6,183 feet (1,885 m). The lake has a surface area of .5 square kilometres (0.19 sq mi).

The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. When it is full, it reflects a distinct shade of blue. The color is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis

The Wisteria Tunnel

Wisteria Tunnel is located at the Kawachi Fuji Gardens in Kitakyushu, Japan. Flowering trees hang overhead and the different colored rows speckle the garden.

'Tunnel of Love' is a Passageway for Trains and Lovers in Ukraine.

The tunnel was made over many years as the passing train molded the trees¡¯ lines. The train turned a luscious piece of woodland into a unique passageway as it traveled back and forth 3 times a day over several years.

In addition to serving as a train route, the tunnel is used by lovers to make a wish – it is said that if they are sincere in their love, their wishes will come true. If you are out and about Ukraine, don¡¯t miss this fantastic green passageway – whether you are with a loved one, or on your own.

Machu Picchu

7,000 feet above sea level and nestled on a small hilltop between the Andean Mountain Range, the majestic city soars above the Urabamba Valley below. The Incan built structure has been deemed the ¡°Lost Cities¡±, unknown until its relatively recent discovery in 1911. Archaeologists estimate that approximately 1200 people could have lived in the area, though many theorize it was most likely a retreat for Incan rulers. Due to it¡¯s isolation from the rest of Peru, living in the area full time would require traveling great distances just to reach the nearest village.

The Architectural Wonders of Bagan

On the banks of the Irrawaddy River, more than 3,000 temples stretch across a 30-square-mile plain in Pagan, Myanmar (formerly Burma). Most were constructed between 1057 and 1287 during a building frenzy initiated by King Anawrahta, who formed the first Burmese kingdom in 1044.
Nearly a thousand years after Anawrahta's reign, visitors can climb to the top terrace of his Shwesandaw Paya, or "Sunset Pagoda," to enjoy panoramic views of the sprawling city. Many flock to monasteries, which display ornate murals, such as the Ananda Temple's 554 scenes from past lives of the Buddha.

Iguazu Falls, Brazil-Argentina Border

Sat on the border between Brazil and Argentina, it is possible to get safely into Iguazu Falls that you can benefit from over 250 degrees worth of waterfalls surrounding you. It may not be as big as some of the other waterfalls around the world, but Iguazu Falls is by far one of the most stunning.

Reflect on the world's largest mirror

These tourists may look like they¡¯re walking in the air — but they¡¯re actually standing on the world¡¯s largest natural MIRROR.

The amazing phenomenon happens when water falls on the Salar de Uyuni salt pan in Bolivia.

The ground there is so flat that when it rains, there is nowhere for the water to drain away to and it creates a mirror effect which reflects the sky.

Halong Bay, Vietnam
Ha Long Bay (Vietnamese: Vịnh Hạ Long, listen, literally: "descending dragon bay") is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a popular travel destination, located in Quang Ninh province, Vietnam. Administratively, the bay belongs to Hạ Long City, Cẩm Phả town, and part of Van Don district. The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various sizes and shapes. Ha Long Bay is a center of a larger zone which includes B¨¢i Tử Long bay to the northeast, and C¨¢t B¨¤ islands to the southwest. These larger zones share similar geological, geographical, geomorphological, climate, and cultural characters.
Ha Long Bay has an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960–2,000 islets, most of which are limestone. The core of the bay has an area of 334 km2 with a high density of 775 islets.[1] The limestone in this bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in different conditions and environments. The evolution of the karst in this bay has taken 20 million years under the impact of the tropical wet climate.

Leshan Giant Buddha
Construction was started in 713, led by a Chinese monk named Haitong. He hoped that the Buddha would calm the turbulent waters that plagued the shipping vessels traveling down the river. When funding for the project was threatened, he is said to have gouged out his own eyes to show his piety and sincerity. After his death, however, the construction was stuck due to insufficient funding. About 70 years later, a jiedushi decided to sponsor the project and the construction was completed by Haitong's disciples in 803.
Apparently the massive construction resulted in so much stone being removed from the cliff face and deposited into the river below that the currents were indeed altered by the statue, making the waters safe for passing ships.

Navagio Beach on Zakynthos Island, Greece

Also, known as Shipwreck Cove! The most commonly accepted story regarding the wreck of the Panagiotis maintains that she spent the later part of her life as a smuggler ship. In 1980, Panagiotis was making its way from Turkey with a freight of contraband cigarettes (for the Italian Mafia, as some versions of the story assert).
The crew was suspected by authorities, and so the Panagiotis was pursued by the Greek Navy. Encountering stormy weather, the ship ran aground in a shallow cove on the west coast of Zakynthos, to the north of Porto Vromi, where the crew abandoned her to evade the pursuing Navy.
To this day, the wreck remains at the site which is now called "Navagio", Greek for "shipwreck."
Locals raided the cargo of cigarettes and whisky, and for the following four years no 'official' tobacco products were sold on the island.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

This is where James Cameron drew his inspiration from when he was working on Avatar. Located in the Hunan Province of China, Zhangjiajie is known for its stone pillars that reach over 1km in height and resemble the ones seen on Pandora (In the movie Avatar).
